A Heartwarming Delivery to Heart for Alternatives

We were so excited to deliver an incredible parcel of love to Heart for Alternatives, based at the Joy of Nations Church in Walmer.

Sue and her dedicated team do truly remarkable work, and it was such a joy to discover that we also support some of the charities they partner with. It’s amazing what can happen when caring organisations come together to uplift communities in need. ✨

A huge thank you to our wonderful knitters from:

🧶 St. David’s Congregation

🧶 Knitters and Natters at Kruger Gardens

🧶 The Union of Jewish Women PE

👶 Everyone who donated beautiful newborn baby clothes from Pep (0–3 months)

Your generosity made it possible to donate beautiful blankets, cosy beanies, gorgeous newborn outfits, and so many other much-needed essentials. With the cold weather upon us, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Heart for Alternatives does so much more than provide support. They run a small school for children who were unable to enrol in mainstream schools, maintain a thriving vegetable garden that supplies produce to soup kitchens feeding those in need, provide a safe and beautiful space for children to play, and offer counselling and support to young people facing difficult challenges.

As we approach Mandela Day on 18 July, we’re reminded that kindness and generosity shouldn’t be limited to just one day a year. Every day is an opportunity to make a difference in someone else’s life.

A special thank you to Linda for joining me on the delivery. It was a privilege to see firsthand the incredible work being done and to know that, together, we’re helping bring warmth, hope, and care to those who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our projects. Every donation, every knitted item, and every act of kindness helps change lives. 🙏💙
